More than 300 years ago, a strong earthquake revealed the entrance to a miracle of nature: Drogarati Cave, a work of art, an astonishing marvel of more than 150 million years old, crafted gradually by nature. Orange and yellow stalactites hang from the roof like curtains while vitreous stalagmites emerge to form spacious chambers.

Assos

Just north of the stunning Myrtos beach lays the tiny and secluded village of Assos, which is one of the most beautiful and picturesque villages of the island.

Antisamos Beach

Famous from the movie "Captain Corelli's Mandolin". Very close to Sami port at the east part of the island

Agia Efimia

A beautiful small village and a port to many excursion cruises. Just opposite from Ithaca.

How to Reach Kefalonia

By Air

Kefalonia International Airport is just 8 km from Argostoli and there are daily flights to and from Athens International Airport. The duration of the flight is 45 min.

By Ferry

Kefalonia is connected everyday with mainland Greece by ferry through the ports of Argostoli, Lixouri, and Poros. Most ferries travel to Killini-Poros (duration 1h and 30min). During summertime there are ferry connections between Zakynthos and Lefkada. Also, throughout tourist season there are connections to and from Italy via Sami. By Bus

Bus station (KTEL Kefalonias)

Athens +30 210 515 0785: From Kifissos, Athens there are daily bus connections with Kefalonia. The bus travels either to Patra or Killini and gets on the ferry.
